What is
“We Are Shanghai”?

Started in 2011, We Are Shanghai is a non-profit, annual pan-genre open call to musicians based in Shanghai, China. Every band/musician submits one song to be included in the compilation.

The project aims to show the world the sound of China’s most international city, as it fosters talent from not only amazing musicians who have come from all over China but from all over the world as well. Each album serves as a time capsule of the city’s creativity and passion.
